Fox News Worried Its Viewers Can’t Tell a Cartoon from News?

I haven’t used a clip from the Daily Show or any Viacom material in my videos for almost six months, but, last week, when Matt Groening, creator of “The Simpsons,” appeared on the Daily Show, he revealed information of such public interest about how Fox News assesses its own viewers, I had to make this video. The Pew Research Center survey of public knowledge of current affairs to which I refer in my video is available at: people-press.org Also, the Daily Show interview with Matt Groening …

Fantastic video. I don´t know the answer to the first question. I am a daily show viewer ;) For the second, probably yes, that’s the only logical explanation for their behavior.

Great video, really interesting points and I just love these clips you showed! Then to my answers/opinions to your questions:
    1 – I sure hope not…
2 – Definitely, no question about it. It’s funny, though, since it means that the hosts and scripters and all from Fox News can’t be as stupid as they seem.

  • jjmblue7:

Well, the Fox “News” team have been looking a little jaundiced…

  • SMASHWALLSTREETNOW:

People who watch the daily show or the colbert report for news are the most stupid people on the planet and should be shot for their ignorance

  • tremedar:

Or, when the corporate scum get tired of paying real people, just invent someone every so often, use the latest in graphics technology to make the presentation appear to be an actual human when in reality it’s all digital, and slowly age the ‘person’ over the years, and when they ‘die’ place either an empty coffin or one with a life-like dummy in the ground, with a fully covered funeral. I see the money grubbers doing this in many areas, use the personality of a CEO without the risk of death

  • Templarzealot89:

    yes and yes lol

  • alienisuntverus:

If you have trouble telling the difference between a cartoon and news, time to kill yourself and stop the retard gene…then again, we will lose all of Fox’s viewers.

  • isaachaze1:

@SMASHWALLSTREETNOW People who pull stupid, unsubstantiated comments out of their ass and post them on youtube vids should be shot for their ignorance :)

  • hornylink:

@SMASHWALLSTREETNOW Yes because the video clearly said they were watching it specifically for news not comedic value……wait my mistake, you’re just a moron.

  • SMASHWALLSTREETNOW:

Actually a lot of young people believe what is being said on these comedy channels and vote accordingly to their ignorance

  • hornylink:

@SMASHWALLSTREETNOW Even if that is true, it has absolutely nothing at all to do with the video except that the Colbert report was mentioned. Thus your comment, coupled with a lack of context makes you sound like a troll. I don’t mean to be insulting, just offering up a point.

  • greatbookie:

They could avoid having the news-anchor age at all — more of a liability than an advantage when viewers get attached to a public personality. But I wonder if a character like Max Hedroom could be made interesting and charismatic enough to last more than one decade?

  • vankook:

I really want to believe that Fox news viewers can tell the difference. Why they threatened for fair use copyright infringement is beyond me. This was nothing more than an incisive and incendiary parody.

  • MrJwilly12:

    YEP!

  • Socoolscienceshow:

I think the IQ level of theaverage FoxNews viewer is below the average preschoolers IQ. That being said, Only the FoxNews viewer would mistaken that clip as real!

As for your fair use arguement, fair use is not a law but rather a court defence move. Its there to stop major entertainment copmanies from sueing other major entertainment companines.

As for you and I here on youtube the fair use doctrine is only there for our opinion or to use when there are no equivilent in the public domain!

  • blackbull420:

    lol… ownage

  • nt0xik8ed:

    just look at a 9/12 teabagger video…

  • TheFagPatroll:

@Socoolscienceshow Fox news has the highest cable news ratings CNN is toast!

  • DrVegie:

fox=gay, ah come on there had to be a troll in here somewhere

  • proudfootz:

Last shot of Krusty looks like Mayor Shanks of Melonville….

  • KageMinowara:

I think the most likely explanation is that the clip just annoyed the higher ups at Fox and they were too lazy to come up with a better reason when they told Groening not to do it anymore.

  • jsmith224455:

    >>below the average preschoolers IQ

IQ scores are normalized for age. Preschoolers don’t necessarily have low IQs.

  • rolfinator1:

maybe make it copyright so you have to call it crox news

  • SundialSecondhand:

    Yes

  • s4videos:

Fox news should change their slogan to something like this:
“Fox News – we know if you’re watching us you’re morons.”
